The dictionary meaning of the word “Career” is course or progress through life or a distinct portion of life. Everybody wants to secure a great career for his or her self. In order to get the best out of our careers we try to acquire as much skills as we can. We educate ourselves, attend trainings, do research, select best career options for ourselves and lead good lives. Career success plays not only an important role in your professional life but also in your family as well as social life. People who are at the peak of career success are celebrated in the society or everybody recognizes people who have established benchmarks of success. If you want to make a great career which is enviable to the rest, you have to choose right career options as well as work hard to achieve your career objective. To be able to move ahead, you have to first decide the direction in which you want to pursue a career. One should always have a career objective in mind, so as to be able to be successful. A career objective could be as brief as “becoming successful medical practitioner” or more in detail. The quest for success does not end at deciding on what career you want to go for, but you also have to work hard in that direction.
Experts in this field also say just achieving success in your personal life is not the end of the quest or is not just going to be enough. We cannot measure career success, most people never know whether they have done enough or not. When you have achieved the pinnacle of success, you also have a moral responsibility to make sure that you help needy people in your community, society or country. Best example is that of Bill Gates, the man who raised a storm named “Microsoft”. On achieving the desired goals, the man decided to give away up to half of his wealth to hungry and starving or those who are diseased and need help to combat their illness. Philosophers say this is the last stage where you are satisfied in life or are left with no more expectations from your career.
